How does offline verification work?
When a license is activated, Keylight issues a short-lived signed token to the device. Your app verifies the Ed25519 signature locally at runtime, so it works without any network connection. The token is periodically refreshed in the background when the device is online.
Do you take a cut of my revenue?
Only on Stripe Connect autopilot — a 0.1% platform fee in exchange for Keylight running the entire Stripe pipeline for you (Connect onboarding, webhook secret rotation, payouts, refund/dispute hooks, subscription lifecycle). Use your own Stripe account directly, or any other provider (Paddle, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad, Creem, Shopify), and we take 0%.
Can I use Keylight with any app?
Keylight is optimized for the Apple ecosystem (macOS, iOS, visionOS), but our API is platform-agnostic. You can use it with any app that can make HTTP requests.
Is there a limit on API calls?
All plans include high-limit API access with built-in protection against abuse. You'll never hit a ceiling during normal operation.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from your dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately, and downgrades apply at the end of your billing cycle.
What happens when my license limit fills up?
You'll get a notification when you're approaching your plan's limit. Existing licenses continue to work. You just can't mint new ones until you upgrade or deactivate older licenses.
What's the difference between Starter and Pro?
It's mainly license volume and support level. Starter is for indie devs shipping a real app with per-app Connect included. Pro raises the device limit for growing apps and adds SLA-backed support.
Do you offer refunds?
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. We don't offer refunds for past billing periods.
What counts as an active license?
One active license equals one seat or device your customer has activated. You can deactivate unused licenses anytime from your dashboard to free up your quota.
